Sea to Sky Removal Donates to Wildlife Rescue Association of BC and More!

Sea to Sky Removal has a passion for animals, why? Because they don't have a voice. We believe that small acts create big impacts and feel if we do our part at least the animals won't suffer as long as we donate to causes we believe in. Working with us, you will be part of our passion project and will assist us in reaching our goals which is to donate bi-monthly to some pretty amazing locally sourced organizations dedicated to helping animals in need.

Could you imagine if every business would donate a percentage of their net sales to a non for profit they believe in? They really would create a huge impact as a little goes along way!

In December, we donated $500 to Paws for Hope Animals Foundation, who are committed to building sustainable, long-term companion animal protection for dogs, cats, and small animals in British Columbia. Then in February we donated $500 to Whistler Animals Galore which is where we adopted our dog Lilly. Their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to homeless and lost dogs and cats and advocates in finding their forever homes. This month we donated $500 to BC Wildlife Rescue Association including building materials for their hospital restoration project. They are the busiest rehabilitator of wild animals in Western Canada. Each year, they provide professional care for more than 5,000 animals in distress. Next month, we will be donating to Critter Care Wildlife Society. Each year, they deal with hundreds of animals that have been severly debiltated very often as a result of human-animal conflicts, including animals hit by cars, animals accidentally (and intentionally) poisoned. They also have animals that come in diseased, starved or simply suffering from parasites or pneumonia. Critter Care has the facility, the medicine, the staff and the voluntary veterinary support of several prominent clinics throughout the lower mainland in order to provide superior care.

And there you have it, we love to promote and support these amazing organizations. We work hard and so does everyone involved too and feel it's in our nature to donate bi-monthly to these impactful organizations. Do you have any favourites? Drop us a line and let us know!

Sea to Sky Removal promotes sustainable gypsum removal & recycling

Sea to Sky Removal offers removal of construction waste from any size construction or renovation project that wants to be environmentally conscious and/or just doesn't have space for a bin. If you have any drywall that needs to be removed, we'd be happy to take it away for you. Drywall is live loaded and taken to the appropriate disposal location, for Metro Vancouver this is New West Gypsum Recycling in New Westminster, for the Sea to Sky it is Whistler and Squamish landfills which end up properly disposing of the material.

New West Gypsum Recycling offers a closed-loop sustainable solution that ensures gypsum is not ‘lost’ as it is with composting or land spreading. Gypsum or drywall (is also known as gyprock or sheetrock) can essentially be recycled forever with no degradation to the material. NWGR’s philosophy keeps gypsum material in the supply chain, reducing the need to extract virgin material which helps to preserve valuable, natural resources for generations to come.

Unfortunately, North Vancouver Transfer Station only accept a maximum of ½ tonne gypsum per load (approx. 20 sheets of 4’ x 8’ x ½”) and only NEW gypsum that has not been installed (no tape, paint or mud) will be accepted. New gypsum includes unfinished gypsum board cut from new material. In Vancouver, the Vancouver South Transfer Station and Vancouver Landfill also only accepts NEW drywall with the same amount as above.

Working with us lets our team take care of the loading and removal so you can focus on the other tasks at hand with building a new house or office space.

Drywall must be date-stamped showing 1987 or newer, or pre 1987 must be accompanied by a testing report from an approved facility such as A.C.M. Environmental in Vancouver or Kinetic OHS Services in North Vancouver that shows it to be free and clear of asbestos and other banned material. For the Sea to Sky Corridor this date is 1990.

If you have no time to get it tested we'd be happy to provide this service for you for a fee of $100 plus the testing fee. All we would need a sample that contains a section of tape and mud (as this is where the asbestos will be found if present) and be bagged in a zip-lock bag with the address and same location written on it e.g kitchen or bathroom.

We remove drywall on construction sites across the Lower Mainland which includes Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Deep Cove, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Surrey, Langley, New Westminster New and Richmond as well as the Sea to Sky Corridor which includes Lions Bay, Britannia Beach, Squamish and Whistler.
